Captain Jax Mobile RV Park

My husband and I have stayed at Captain Jax/Kings Kamp RV park, Key Largo, for the months of January through end of March for the last six years. We have thoroughly enjoyed staying in this RV park every year. The staff here works very hard to ensure the campground is safe and clean. Margaret and Ruth provide great customer service and organization. The grounds staff works very hard to keep the campground nice. Every year the owners invest in various upgrades, which are greatly appreciated. The RV park location is most excellent. There is access to a protected small boat marina, lovely beach area to watch the sunset, fantastic weather, and other nice amenities. The best part about the park are the wonderful long-term friends we have made by staying here.

Room was dirty, found a dead roach in the bedroom floor and they didn't send a housekeeper until the next day, the housekeeper didn't pick up the garbage in the bathroom. The walls were not soundproof, conversations from next door guest woke me up at 8 a.m.

This is our 3rd year at Kings Camp RV. It’s a small but nice park. The facilities are well kept and clean. We love stopping here for a few days on our way through. The manager, Ruth, is very welcoming and always willing to help you in any way she can. Last year, the day we arrived, I had an emergency during the night and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Miami. We had only planned to stay two days because of reservations further down in the Keys. This was our very first trip as retirees, and we were so looking forward to it. This was also our rescue dog’s first Motorhome trip. He had severe separation anxiety. We stayed for 25 days… we called to reserve for this many days and they found us seven different spots! We didn’t mind moving as we met and made many friends. This is an “Old Keys” park with many long term residents and many RV spots. Bigger rigs will find it challenging, but when “Michael” is working you will do just fine fitting into your spot. The beach area is really nice…. with accommodation of chaise lounges and chairs. Sunsets are unbelievable.😎

I wish I could give zero stars. I have been camping since the 1960's and this is the first campground I ever left without staying because I did not feel safe. The dirty looks of the guest and the person who guided us to our spot, were spine chilling. There was only a few feet between my camper and a house trailer where a dog was barking and chopping at the bit to get us. The pictures do not give an accurate representation of how dilapidated and uninviting this place is. So after being there for approximately an hour, we found another campground and left. I talked to a manager the next day after and explained why we left. She seemed surprised and appalled but did not offer to give my $135 deposit back. I would not recommend this place and I will never go back, no more in life. This part of
