Capistrano Surfside Inn

Our stay at SurfSide was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, Augstina at the front desk set the tone with her warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. The resort’s location, right across the street from the beach made the entire stay feel special and effortless. Our room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully stocked, with a full kitchen, a completely clean PERSONAL outdoor grill and a relaxing balcony that made us feel right at home. Every detail reflected care and pride. We truly appreciated our time here and look forward to returning.

No spa available. Website did NOT say the spa was unavailable. I would have booked elsewhere. When I mentioned it the man behind the desk was not apologetic but first asked who I booked through. I said hotels.com and he said they can’t help me. This is a cold corporate attitude. Take accountability and give me some effort. Will not book here again.

Positive: The location is great. Easy access to the beach and freeway. Negative: Rooms are dated.

Fantastic service. Mr Sergio greeted me & my daughter very nicely. He was very helpful with all kind suggestions. Ms. Guadalupe was so sweet & amazing. She was so courteous also helped us set up a pool game told us about all the other amenities this beautiful Capistrano Surfside Inn had to offer. Highly recommend this place! God bless!

So, as background, my wife and I have stayed here regularly for over 30 years. We are not owners, we live in Los Angeles, and come down during off peak times just to have a room on the beach where we can relax and hear the waves. A couple of weeks ago, I was returning from a trip in a Sunday night and found our hot water heater was leaking, so I made a last minute reservation at 330 in the afternoon and headed to Dana Point so that I could shower. We've always had an oceanfront room and quite honestly, I wasn't even aware that they had rooms that weren't oceanfront. We checked in at 530, and went to our room and entered to find our room facing a wall of dirt and weeds in the back of the hotel. I approached the front desk and told them that this wasn't acceptable and that I would find
