This has become one of our favorite campgrounds. We typically visit in October, when it is a bit quieter. Clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Sites are plenty spacious for our large pop up camper. Short drive to the beach or to Gloucester. Everything you need for a great camping experience and thankfully none of the glitz of resort campgrounds.
We found this place on a whim. As we came down to Salem, we caught this campground at the end of season as they were closing everything up right before we left very good campground close to Salem. Nice guy who runs the place. His name was Alan pretty spread out space. We were able to grab up front which I have to say we were pleasantly surprised on the amount of space we had. If you can get the first campground spot when you pull into the right, it is very roomy. The bathrooms were a little rugged. If I must say the least one, there was spiders everywhere. 2, there was bugs everywhere 3. The trash wasn't really taken out in the bathroom. You have to pay with quarters for the shower. And my wife got out of the shower same time. I did, and said, honey look, so I walked into the woman's bathr
The campground is built into a steep hillside which you must drive halfway up then back into a site terraced into the hill. They tell you to call when you get there, so they can meet you at the bottom and you won’t have to go up the hill. This is very misleading and leads you to think the larger sites are at the bottom of the hill. They are not! They are terraced into the hill so that you are perched part way up a steep hill while trying to back into a site. The dump station is at the bottom of the hill but has a campsite right beside it so that you have to back down the steep hill into the dump station. (Yes, this was how they suggest you access it.) The road to get to the campground is also small and narrow, but to be fair that seems to be a common theme for Gloucester. Much of the town
Great campground. Nice size sites. Quiet. Nice market half mile away. Really hot water for showers and 5 minutes for 25 cents was enough time. ended up turning off water. Would give 5 stars if it was easier to pull into dump stations.
Sites are too close and absolutely no privacy, bathrooms are full of daddy long legs. There is no playground or any other fun things to do within the campground. There is wingersheek beach but not walkable and finding parking is tough and expensive so not much to do here really.
