Cannery Row Inn

This is an older hotel, but it has all the charm of the area. The rooms were perfect for what we needed. My family of 4, twin boys and my husband and I, fit comfortably in the room. The bathrooms are basic, the room is pretty basic but the fireplace is nice especially since we had rainy, windy weather. The staff is super nice and helpful. The location was PERFECT. We walked pretty much everywhere. Cannery Row is right there along with a small beach and the piers. We will definitely be back again.

The room was clean, with a gas fireplace and a balcony that overlooked the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail and a corner of San Carlos Beach. It's less than a block walk to the Beach itself, and it was an easy stroll for me to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Check-in and check-out was very easy with my phone, but there was someone at the front desk if I needed any help. The lobby is small but bright and has free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, lists of restaurants, and sightseeing brochures. There's also a vending machine for sodas and water near the elevator. The only noise was the sea lions late at night one night. :) It was an amazing value, considering how close it was to the water. I'd stay again.

Positive: Nothing. Took 2 hours for toilet tissue. Kiosk check in does not work. Could not understand them Negative: Dish network sucked.

I spent 3 nights here, and it was a good experience. The room was clean, didn't feel outdated, and even had a small balcony. You do have to pay for parking, but that seems to be the case for many hotels in the area. Most of the spaces are under the building, so that makes it more worth it. Parking is tight, but 1/2 ton trucks do fit, at least in the uncovered spaces. The location is superb, about 1/2 a mile or less from most highlight attractions including fisherman's wharf and the aquarium. Their check in system is smooth and contactless with a door code they'll text you when your room is ready. They could do with a complimentary breakfast bar, but for the price you pay, it's not a deal breaker for me.

Very friendly and helpful but I wish they still had continental breakfast. I was grateful for the coffee maker use in room and the outdoor water dispenser. Internet connection wasn't great. I would suggest having a few extra rollaway beds and not charging for parking. Kid-friendly. You can hear others opening doors but no one's voices. Great location! Polite staff.
