Candlewood Suites Lake Jackson-Clute by IHG

I stayed here for three days and want to call out three staff members who genuinely made my stay better: Nathan, Laura, and Christina.||Nathan came across as the calm, no-nonsense professional who clearly knows how to run the place. Very direct, very efficient, and exactly the person you want when you have a question or need something handled correctly the first time. He struck me as a manager type—serious in the best way—and I always felt like things were under control when he was around.||Laura was simply sweet and kind every time I interacted with her. No attitude, no rush—just genuinely pleasant and helpful. Sometimes that alone makes a hotel feel welcoming, and she nailed that.||And then there’s Christina. I am a traveling technician and have stayed at Candlewood Lake Jackson several months at a time off and on since mid 2024. The owner, staff and other hotel patrons have been absolutely outstanding. They set the tone for an extended stay experience. They are very personable and always attentive to your needs. One time last year myself and a few other technicians had pitched in and bought a bunch of food to have a little barbeque after a long week of work. We did not know, but the owner had made the decision while we were at work to remove the BBQs, patio furniture, etc. several days before a possible pass by of a hurricane (Very smart choice). We happen to be asking the staff about the barbeque situation after we arrived home from work and the owner happen to be present. He stepped around

This hotel is clean - good for my standards. We spent a week there due to work. Everything in the room was functional. Good parking spots. The commercial/retail neighborhood is a short drive away, but nothing within walking distance is worth noting. The hotel doesn't offer Breakfast. The pet area needs more care as the trash can was full when we arrived and continued as such for another 3 days. Unreasonable people throw their litter into the pet area instead of using all other designated areas for leftovers, cans, and bottles.

Great location and next to Buc-ee's so you can gas up and get your Buc-ee's snack fix! I was greeted with a smile and awesome customer service by front desk employee Annette, who exemplifies the IHG way. Thanks for making me feel welcomed after a long day of work on the road.
