Candlewood Suites Harrisburg - Hershey by IHG

I’m sorry to have to write this review, but there are no polite words to use for this horrible experience. I am a silver member, so I generally stay at IHG hotels. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered with an overnight stay. The hotel was in a horrible location to begin with. The lobby was old and had a horrible stench that was unbearable. The furniture, bed, bathroom and kitchenette were old and moldy smelling. The mattress was lumpy, smelly and old. It was late at night, I was traveling alone, wasn’t familiar with the area and therefore locked myself in the room. The location was frightening. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned before we checked in. Hair on sink and all over the floor. Used bar of soap in the shower. Liquid soap bottles empty. Floor was DIRTY and sticky. Nails in bedroom wall where picture should be. Stains down the walls. Outdated. Staff were very nice though.

Hotel is so dirty. Asked for maintenance to clean out tub drain no hot water on 4th floor. Requested to change rooms multiple times to be ignored. Told I would get “extra points” for the inconveniences I don't need points just want a clean room with hot water.

Simple review. Here is a list of issues we had over a 5 day stay… No toilet paper Dirty dishes in the dishwasher No dishwasher soap Dirty frying pan Old coffee in coffee maker TV power plug was unplugged HDMI to TV was unplugged Loads of trash left next to elevator on our floor for 2 days till we asked to remove it. Twice our door cards failed to work and I know not to put my phone near them Top Dresser drawer wouldn’t stay closed Coat hook on wall about to fall out Blistering paint in bathroom. The American flag was slightly tattered but knotted to it was the company flag.

The worst hotel I've stayed at! 1) Upon exiting the elevator to the 2nd floor, we were greeted by bad smell and garbage right in front of the elevator door. 2) Before entering our room, there's dirty linen and towels beside our door. 3) Inside the bedroom, the pillows did not have pillow cases. 4) Dishwasher was not unloaded. I was told to unload them ourselves. 5) There were not enough towels in the bathroom as well. 6) There was no shower gel in the bathroom. 7) All the tvs in the hotel were not working. 8) Was planning to use the stairs to go back down and there was trash all over the stairs. Please stay away from this hotel. Additional comment: Owner just sent a generic response. Noticed it's the same response to all the complaints. The problem is no real concrete action is b
