Candlewood Suites Fargo-N. Dakota State Univ. by IHG

Absolutely loved my stay at Candlewood Suites NDSU! The rooms are cozy, clean, and just the right vibe for relaxing after a long day. The location is perfect—close to the airport and downtown, making it super convenient. But what really makes this place special is the staff. Victoria checked me in and was so friendly and helpful, and Matt, Orion, Abby, and Christian were all awesome too. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. I can’t recommend this hotel enough—it honestly felt like a home away from home!

I originally left a negative review after being charged a no-show fee during the government shutdown, a situation I had absolutely no control over and one that left me feeling completely helpless. With the shutdown and furlough in effect, there was no one on either side who could step in and help, and it felt like I was being punished for something I couldn’t prevent. It was stressful, discouraging, and honestly pretty disappointing. But everything changed once the manager returned from her health-related absence. She reached out to me with sincerity, empathy, and urgency. You could tell she genuinely cared about fixing what had gone wrong. Within a short time, she not only resolved the issue but made me feel heard and understood, something that means a lot when you’ve been stuck in a situ

I had to stay here due to an emergency in our family. It was located perfectly for my needs. I had multiple issues with key cards not working, and that seems to be a consistent problem because when I was checking in someone else had the same issue. I ended up having that problem multiple times as well during my 5 night stay. Most of the front staff was very sweet, the day gal was short with me one time which I thought was really uncalled for. She also made me wait while she checked someone in and did an entire whole spiel of the property while I stood there with my belongings because my key card didn’t work. She just was not the nicest person, I literally felt like I was a bother in her day. Isn’t this her job? But the lady who checked me in Thursday night was so kind and helpful. The bed

Flying in late, and not wanting to drive 75 miles in the dark, we settled for a nearby, well-rated hotel with shuttle service from the airport.|Sadly, the shuttle driver went home early, and they had to send a taxi driver with which this property has a cooperative agreement.|If there was a free breakfast, and I don't think there was, it wasn't memorable.|The front desk clerk was quite friendly. However, when asked for a reference for excellent dining, said, "I haven't been there myself yet, but friends tell me _______ is excellent, and it's literally just a block that way." Uh, turns out on a VERY cold night's walk, it's closer to 2/3 of a mile! Needless to say, we didn't go there.

GREAT place to stay for Fargo Redhawks minor league baseball fans that are coming in from out of town. I stay here annually for a usually 5 or 6 game home-stand of the Redhawks. This is the CLOSET HOTEL to Newman Outdoor Field, the home of the Redhawks, located on the campus of NDSU. Closest means walking distance, no driving (or parking hassle) going to or from the game. I specifically look for hotels within walking distance of ballparks in different cities for baseball games. The full "kitchenettes" in the rooms have a "full size" fridge, with built-in ice maker in the freezer! That's right, you don't have to leave your room to get ice!
