Candlewood Suites Bismarck by IHG

I've stayed at pretty much every hotel now in Bismarck, and why i left this one for last, ill never know! The price is budget friendly, rooms are clean and updated. The morning coffee is pretty dam good, but dont expect a breakfast. Thats ok tho, no breakfast is better than a crappy one. I was very comfortable staying here. Beds are comfy, at least for my old crochety back. Located next to some good shopping and restaurants. This property gets an A. Just shy of plus. I will definitely be staying here from now on.

First off we got her a day early and they were able to get a room for us, the next morning they had our reserved room ready by noon to move into. Our stay has been for 11 days, our last day is tomorrow August 26. Our stay here has been exceptional! My husband requires a wheelchair accessible room with roll in shower, when I say that is hard to come by, I am saying not all hotels know exactly what that means. Candlewood DOES!! our room was spacious, kitchenette was stocked and the bathroom was great, the roll in shower had 5 not 2 , but 5 grab bars in the shower!! not to mention a built in bench!! The Staff have been courteous, friendly and accommodating!!! There are many other amenities! When we come back for a visit we will be stay here no doubt!! Thanks for everything!!

Traveling nurse. My first stay was good…other than being locked out of my room one day. Second stay is sub par. Room wasn’t stocked…had to ask for kitchen towels and paper towels. Dishes still in the dishwasher…not sure if they are clean regardless of the note on the dishwasher because food still on silverware. Ice maker doesn’t work. Mostly used dish soap (about 1/4 in the bottle left). Dishwasher soap already opened so when I picked it up it was all over the place. Do better!

We had a very mixed experience with this hotel. It was the worst check-in experience we’ve ever had. Check in is supposed to be 3pm, we arrived about 5:30pm and they didn’t have a clean room for us yet. We came back at 7:30pm and they found us a room finally. Or so we thought. We booked a 1 bedroom suite with a separate bedroom and when we walked into the room I noticed it was only a single studio room. So we had to haul all of our luggage back down to the front desk and tell them they gave us the wrong room. The employee tried to say that’s what I booked and that’s all they have. I showed her my confirmation email. Eventually someone else showed up and said she’s still cleaning some rooms!? This is about 5 hours past the check-in time they advertise. The room was clean and spacious. Manager on duty was sharp and helped us complete a minor reservation change. This was everything we needed for our “home base” while visiting the area. Bed is comfortable, and so is the recliner chair. Small kitchen works well. Plenty of plugs and a nice desk that doubles as a dining table. This is how all casual hotels should be. Note—you re giving up routine maid service, and no free breakfast, but that helps keep the price as low as possible. (Free coffee in the lobby, and they supply coffee and maker in your room.)
