Camp Karuga

Had a wonderful stay at Camp Karuga!! The hosts are very accommodating, it’s an especially great spot for motorcycle riders. The campsite was easy to access from the road! Clean bathrooms, campgrounds. And what an incredibly serene and peaceful location- right along a bustling creek. Will definitely be back! TY!!!

We loved this gem of a place! The owners are kind and accommodating and couldn't be nicer. We took our kids (age 2 and 6), who had the best time especially playing on the creek, horseback riding, and playing cowboys in the wild. They also loved the cabin loft, their secret little room. We went to Tweetsie Railroad one day, easy and scenic drive to Blowing Rock and Boone from this site. We already can't wait to go back. Thank you Kathy and Rudy!

Beautiful campground—I recommend booking their 1/hour horsebackriding. Kind and welcoming team!

The most wonderful experience for our 8 year old granddaughter! 3 Days of camp and she’s an addicted horse girl. The owner (Kathy) is a most generous soul and knows how to handle children well. We’ll be back soon.

We have been horse owners and took our grandson to pony camp at Camp Karuga. The horses are gentle and well trained and the camp observes all safety measures. Our grandson, who is a first time rider, learned how to groom and tack up as well as ride. We will be going back!
