Cambria Hotel West Orange

Until recently, the Cambria Hotel in West Orange had been a solid, reliable midrange option for us. We stay here frequently—typically for a week at a time—and visit at least 5–6 times per year. The price, location, and cleanliness have always been good, and a few staff members truly make the experience feel welcoming. Miss Victoria is always a delight, and Reddrick was especially helpful when he promptly addressed a late-night noise issue from neighboring guests.||Unfortunately, recent stays have raised some concerns.||During our last visit (January 5–11), I requested housekeeping service twice during our six-night stay—once on Wednesday and once on Friday. As soon as I walked into the room, there was a strong cigarette smell. I called the front desk and was told that all the rooms are smoke-free and that there was nothing they could do about the smell. At the very least, they could have tried to accommodate the situation by sending housekeeping with some type of air freshener. Two of the nightstand lights in the room didn’t work either. The hotel also seemed understaffed. I barely saw any employees around, and the front desk was mostly empty. Overall, the experience was disappointing due to the cigarette smell, maintenance issues, and lack of presence from staff Housekeeping lady and front desk lady very rude.

⭐️ *1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointing Stay* My recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of unacceptable. I arrived after 3 PM—well past the standard check‑in time—only to be told that my room was not ready. The receptionist, who appeared to be a supervisor, showed no courtesy, no apology, and no sense of responsibility. Instead, he responded with a dismissive attitude, stating that the room “needed to be cleaned before they could admit me,” as if that justified the delay. His tone bordered on rude, and I was left waiting in the lobby, irritated and uncomfortable. When I finally checked in, the room initially looked clean, but that illusion quickly disappeared. To my shock, there was a **used condom under the *bed. *The sofa was filthy and stained with what appeared to be *urine*,

The bed was extremely soft and comfortable, and my room was really nice. I did find the shower head to be oddly installed right at the shower entrance, which is weird because you'll end up getting wet while trying to regulate the shower temperature before entering the shower to wash up. Still a lovely hotel that i would revisit in the near future. Thank you.

I have no idea how this hotel has such a low rating. The food is well priced and absolutely delicious. Waiting staff was professional and wonderful. The rooms were perfect. The parking was excellent. It was next to shopping and dining and starbucks, right off the hoghway... what more could you want? They always have makeup wipes and a special makeup towel. Rooms were quiet and easy to get to from the elevator. The shower is perfect for ADA, because it isn't a slip hazard, and its a walk in shower with awesome water pressure and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash pumps. No bars though. Lots of room. Gorgeous rooms. GORGEOUS! Wonderful AC/heating, and they have plenty of room for luggage and other items. We had 2 rooms, one king size and one with 2 queens, and both rooms were perfect.
