Cambria Hotel Minneapolis Maple Grove

We were staying at this hotel while traveling to attend a funeral. On the morning of our departure, the hotel had no hot water. I understand that mechanical failures can happen — that part alone was not the issue.||What was unacceptable was the complete lack of accountability afterward.||There was no apology, no acknowledgment that the hotel had let us down, and no effort by management to make things right. The General Manager avoided my calls and emails entirely. Here are some honest pros and cons of this hotel. First the pros,, the price of the room is reasonable compared to other hotels. The rooms are spacious with a sitting area, clean and it's nice to have two TV's. The location of the hotel is great with lots of parking. The free breakfast is standard and the workout area is decent. The staff is friendly and there's always plenty of coffee available in the lobby. The cons,, The (small) pool was completely drained and the (small) jacuzzi was out of order. We have stayed here before and it was an issue then as well. Be prepared to put down a $200 deposit which takes several days to be put back into your bank account. My biggest complaint is that the bed was old and very uncomfortable. Pleasantly surprised at the value of this place... Friendly front desk staff, quick check-in, spotless room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was the usual cruisin' cuisine of free breakfasts everywhere - out of the box belly fillers but well stocked with moderate variety. The only real improvement to be made, in my humble opinion, is the coffee. I wasn't sure if it was actually coffee or a cleaning detergent doing double time. But still, great value for the price and would certainly use this establishment again should our travels bring us this way.

The hot tub was not working. There were no towels by the pool, so had to wait for them to be brought. The towels are small and flimsy. The breakfast was good, nice variety of food. Decaf coffee wasn't marked so don't know what I was drinking. Otherwise it was a decent value.

I booked a room weeks ago. Two days before they sent me a text asking if there was anything they could do for my stay. I let them know it was my daughters birthday, I thought maybe they could do something in the room that said happy birthday or something simple. When we arrived they said they cancelled my room and had set me an email that they cancelled, because I can't have parties in the room. I checked, I didn't get an email. Also I wasn't having a party. They said they cancelled, the room was now booked and I couldn't book any other room because it's celebrating, a birthday party, and I would need to rent the banquet room to have a party. I told them again, we were just staying the night, no party. The manager said it's cancelled, you can't stay here, there another hotels nearby. Awful
