Calusa Campground Resort & Marina

Location is great, kind of the middle of Key Largo. Very kid friendly although the lots don’t have a ton of space. Kind of a laid back feel with retired folks, vacationers, and a few families living here permanently. The playground was close to us so we went there a few times. The pool is really nice. Salt water treated so not that nasty chlorine smell. There’s a marina there if you have a boat. We got an Airbnb in the campground and it was more reasonably priced than a lot of other options.

Was excited to camp by the Bayside and pictures were appealing. Campground is a mix of RV, mobile homes, houses. Security at gate friendly. Charged a reservation fee for each of us staying overnight, yet reservation said up to 6 guests and there was no mention of additional fees. Streets are very tight. We have a 26 foot camper.Our space was difficult to get in and out. Weeds overgrown at our site, which was concrete and gravel. Not much parking spaces. Mosquitoes were very bad. Pool over crowded. Music loud at different sites. Will not return.

They gave us a quoted price for our stay, then 3 days after we checked out they started emailing us looking for more money. They said that they quoted us incorrectly. Be aware!!! The location was great. The pool was lovely and the manatees visited the marina daily. The camp site was made of large chunks of coral and difficult to walk on. But every site is different. Most were much better. Ask before you book.

Very nice RV campground. We rented the RV for 3 months and the staff was helpful and responsive. Office hours are not always as posted.
