Love everything about this place! It reminds me of the (long demolished) Waikikiian Motel in Honolulu. We stayed there many times when I was a child, so the nostalgia kicks in when I stay at Caliente Tropics. The staff is super friendly. The rooms have been updated (mostly) and it definitely retains that Mid-Century vibe that Palm Springs is famous for.
The rooms are outdated, the wallpaper is peeling, and the sheets are stained. Carpet is old and disgusting. Doors do not have additional locks, only one dead bolt. The air continuing is noisy. Staying at this so-called resort was terrible. The only redeeming quality was the decent water pressure in the shower. Many of the pool chairs are broken. We were placed here after our flight was canceled and the airline selected this hotel. Referring to this place as a “resort” is extremely misleading. Until this motel undergoes major renovations, do not stay here under any circumstances.
Positive: "" Negative: The front office to check in was very rude. The room was clean but it smelled that we can't handle. Did not want to talk the front office so we left one day earlier from our reservation. Is there something I can do to see if I can get a refuPlease advise
First time writing a comment because the experience is terrible. Don't be fooled by the name, it is a MOTEL not a resort. I had a very poor stay here and would not recommend it. I will give it zero star if i could. 1. The tap water was extremely cloudy. When washing a strawberry, it almost completely disappeared because the water turned nearly white. Imaging brushing your teeth and washing your face with it. 2. The hotel is very noisy with poor soundproofing. Staying on the first floor felt unsafe— I could clearly hear people walking and talking loudly outside as if they were right next to me. At night, traffic noise from motorcycles and cars on the road was constant and disruptive. You can clearly hear people stepping and moving around on the floor above. 3. Guest service was also supe
I want to leave a note about how amazing their customer service is. Monday i was supposed to be traveling to Palm Springs for a conference and I sustained a back injury Wednesday the prior week rendering me unable to travel. I booked through SWA and even with the "non-refundable" price I paid i was able to work out a refund. Im incredibly disappointed Im unable to travel as I was looking forward to the stay and many visits to The Reef, which id been to once before for last years conference. Amazing people and I hope to attend next year. Thank you so very much! Now I need to see a surgeon but that's another scar for a other time.
