Butler Inn

The location is great! That’s it. The location was great. Room was dirty, cobwebs in the corners of the wall and ceiling, WiFi signal isn’t strong enough to get an actual connection. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. Chair had noticeable stains on it like it had never been cleaned. The chain lock on the door was broken. Bathroom needs painted. Towels had hair and lint on them. The room just felt dirty and smelled. Woke up in the morning to a dog barking in the room next to us.

I was originally going to call this review You Can't Put Lipstick on a Pig. But after I got home and relooked at their website, I have changed the title to Bait & Switch.||The website claimed it was a "Perfect Fusion of Comfort and Elegance" and a "Luxury Stay Hotel Experience". Ummmmm no. That could not be further from the truth.||We chose it because we like to support local when we travel. The website said the rooms had been refurbished. This website had very favorable reviews. I'm not sure where those other people were staying but it was awful.||We had reserved a king room. The desk clerk acknowledged that we had reserved a king room, gave us our keys and some free water and sent us on our way. My wife and I stayed here for several nights. The price was reasonable and the rooms were CLEAN and quite doable. We couldn't have been happier with what we got for the price. The only slight drawback was that the bathroom was slightly outdated in that the tub wasn't in great condition, but the shower itself was great (good water pressure!) and the beds were super comfy. If you're looking to save some money and stay right near Miami U and right near the heart of Oxford, you can't go wrong here. It's nothing super fancy, but the proprietor of the Butler Inn is friendly and they have complimentary drinks in the hotel office area too. We enjoyed our stay.

Positive: Location Negative: Bathroom needs a lot of work. The floor is severally damaged and the shower / bath is cracked and very damaged.

Wow, just wow. Truly an ascendant motel experience. Never in my life have my expectations been so thoroughly exceeded. To anyone visiting Oxford, Ohio, let me be the first to recommend this establishment. From unrivaled customer service to truly lavish and classy rooms, my stay at the Butler Inn was more comparable to the Five Seasons. Thank you to the wonderful staff of the Butler Inn for not only granting us a room at the inn, but a prolonged stay in their hearts.
