Budget Inn Sanford Intl Airport

I was ready to rate it higher, until I went to check out and they charged me an extra $75, (my deposit). They said someone had been smoking in the room. We had not. I told them to check their security footage, and you will see that my employee - the only one of us that smokes - went to the picnic area, (the designated smoking area) or the truck every time he smoked. They said they found tobacco, which is true. They found UNSMOKED, RAW tobacco because he rolls his own. I told them you can't charge for smoking in the room for UNSMOKED tobacco. So, they instead said they are keeping the charge anyway, because it now "needs a deep cleaning. You left out really dirty." We had bagged up the trash. We didn't make the beds, because... why? We booked for an overnight stay before getting on the auto train. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, shower was great and front desk couldn’t have been nicer. There is a small refrigerator in room, small coffee pot and a small microwave. Close to lots of places to eat. We will stay again on our return trips.

Positive: the front desk is delightful, friendly and helpful. It’s an older hotel that’s a bit tired, but the value is great Negative: All good.

BASIC but clean and very friendly staff. Great location and you get what you pay for. Pool is nice. View from room 234 and higher is on a scenic lake. No frills but that's why I had such a low rate.

The only positive thing about my stay is that it is located close to the airport and the staff was friendly. Hardly got any sleep - my room was filthy, smelled like stale cigarettes, heat was not working, toilet ran all night, shower wouldn't drain and the list could go on. Stay across the street at BW Plus even if it costs more, nice diner nearby too.
