Budget Host-Village Inn

We just needed 1 night when we were visiting our daughter. We're not very picky people so I booked due to the low price. We made it through the night, but the smoky smell (even though the confirmation said we were getting a non-smoking room) was the most intense I've ever experienced - i never got used to it. The mattress was ancient - you could feel the springs and when you sat on the edge you almost went to the floor. I thought I read that they had updated rooms and mattresses in reviews I read, but if that's true, we sure didn't get one of those. People were nice and while things were old and smoky, The wifi was free and it worked so that was a nice surprise. I felt it as clean as they could get a shabby room in bad need of updating.

The Budget Host definitely earns its name, because they look like they're operating on a budget. In the few times I stayed here, there were cockroaches, the rooms have spotty WiFi reception, one of the beds had a massive dent in the center of it, there were no towels in ANY of the rooms we were in, and the staff looked like they didn't wanna be there. For a place to stay, it's cost-effective, but I recommend other places first. The Budget Host leaves a lot to be desired.

We had very nice experience living at motel as the staff is very nice and helpful. However, the front desk is very cooperative and having a kind as well as polite nature nice and clean premices with all facilities and cleanliness. We will visit next time for sure.

Pets are not allowed. False advertising. Cockroaches. Very rude front desk staff. Parking lot noise and lights all hours of the night. The temperature could not be easily controlled to hot or to cold. Heating system was loud. The fan in the bathroom sounds like a helicopter. Not clean. Not modern. Front desk man was rude rude rude!

Great location. In the middle of everything in Kirksville. Clean comfortable rooms. Very accommodating staff. Great value. We would highly recommend 👌
