Buckhorn Lake Resort

This “Resort” is anything but, don’t waste your time or money. The grounds are awful and FULL of weeds. The ponds smell horrible and serve as a breeding ground for mosquitos. We stayed here in May 2024 and it was just as awful. We thought it might be bad timing and would give it another try….. NEVER AGAIN. Pool tiles falling off that appear to have been that way for a long time. Staff in the office is rude and do not want to be bothered, extremely unprofessional, heard through other campers that they are related to owners. How embarrassing for the owners. This entire place needs a overhaul and they need to pay attention to the details. There are several newer RV parks in the area that we will stay at next time we are passing through. Attention to the details is what comes to mind when I think of Buckhorn Lake Resort. Beginning with the location that is convenient to Kerrville and other small towns within one hours drive. The campground itself is large and well thought out. Wide, level roads, and camping sites will fit the biggest rigs. We stayed for two nights and both were very good. Despite cool, foggy weather we went to see Lyndon Johnson’s National Historic Site, Luckenbach, Fredericksburg and the museums located there. All in all a wonderful time here. We will be back likely later in the spring so the wildflowers are visible.

We just did an over night stay here in our 5th Wheel. It looks like many campers stay here longer term. The campground is huge, and even has 2 pools. The bathrooms are really nice, probably the nicest I have seen in a campground. Even though we only stayed 1 night we got a nice full hookup pull through sight. The staff here are really nice and friendly. We walked around the campground and noticed there is an adult only section, and a private section. Looks like there is lots to do here, wish we were staying at least 1 week. They had a list of daily activities, tonight was movie night. With a 10% Good Sam discount the site was only $54. Overall this is a really nice campground.

Beautiful RV Resort with easy access off I-10. Will hopefully return my next trip by. Appreciate the garbage pickup at your site and the beautiful grounds and amenities. Also very quiet at night, no trains or airports.

Outstanding resort. Upscale but not snooty. Friendly staff. All spaces have generous, level concrete pads. Close to Kerrville and Fredericksburg. Activities, nice pools, divine hot tubs. Highly recommended.
