We had a great time. Skied for over 5 hours. I had a wipe out. I fractured my tibia plateau and tore my MCL. The care I received from the ski patrol was awesome. Had multiple bystanders willing to help. I just want share my gratitude. There was a young boy that stopped to help I wish I got his name because he was awesome. Thanks everyone. I start my rehab in 4 weeks. I will back at Buck Hill next season.
I went to Buck Hill for tubing. I wanted to purchase tickets online but it was frustrating and impossible. The website is horrible and doesn’t allow you to buy tickets. Overall, the tubing experience was great. I had lots of fun. The area is long and steep enough to gain speed. The tube was of good quality. 2 hours for $25 is a bit pricey. Do not buy tickets if you see a long line of people. When it got crowded i did tubing twice in 1 hour
Great local place to drop yhe kids off for a day. I enjoyed the fireworks on New Year's Eve. They need people to direct traffic after fireworks. There was an accident at the entrance this year. If thag doesn't call for traffic ctntrol, what does?
We went tubing on a Saturday. I expected it to be busy, but for the price I would expect to be able to go more times than we did. The lines were to the top of the back hill you get off of; then the line serpentined before you even got to the moving carpet to bring you up the hill. It was 25-30 minutes wait each time our kids went. We prepurchase tickets. It said sold out at the hut...but people just kept coming! They clearly oversell tickets. I chose to not even go because of the wait. My daughter only went twice. We had 7 in our group.....it was a huge waste of $200. The only up-side - the food was good and drinks by the fire were enjoyable while waiting for kids. Not an activity I would recommend for the $300 in food/tickets we spent.
An interesting and mixed experience but not great overall honestly. Parking and ticketing were fine. Many runs restricted by the training gates not expecting that, really disappointing. They definitely prioritize the clubs or organized teams over the general public. Lots of variety for park terrain, very cool! They have moguls, but why, seems like a waste of space IMO. Kinda limited run space if you just want to cruise and make soul turns. There are better options to spend your money and time at.
