Brentwood Lodging

No notice after 8 mos of living, turned all of our utilities off to our camper in the middle of the night, freezing us and our animals with no notice. Our camper has been their leaf pile for months, and constantly being threatened with harm to our property and situation. Threatened to shoot our animals to "take care of them" going outside.

September 2nd – September 5th – Our family comprised of 6 households, and totaling 18 individuals had made reservations for 3 units over the 2022 Labor Day Weekend. As a family, we had been coming to Brentwood Lodging annually for the past few years, and always made it a point to make our future reservations in advance, and to secure them with a deposit. Prior to this year we always enjoyed our stay. However, after this weekend I could not recommend Brentwood Lodging to others, nor will we be returning again. ||My one brother always reserved cabin #7 as he and his family liked this particular one. We called Brentwood Lodge, in Indian River Michigan, Monday April 4 2022. We asked if they were able to accommodate handicap people. We explained I was in a wheelchair and oxygen dependent. Also I need to be able to sit up for sleeping. We were assured all needs could be met just that the wheel chair could not make it in bathroom. Payment for four days was required in full in advance $575.00. We were given a cabin where the chair barely fit in the room. Their idea of a chair to sleep in was a wooden straight back kitchen chair. The oxygen concentrator and tanks barely fit in the room, there was no floor space. Our group has been coming to the Brentwood since 1999. Every year, rent 7-9 cabins, stay three and often four nights. This year every single family was either moved or simply kicked from their familiar lodging. We only started finding this out ten days before our arrival. They would’ve never called us. Just show up and you’re out or your moved to an inferior cabin. They have long term renters, they have staff staying on site, all valid excuses I suppose, but can’t you contact the people who have stayed with you for 23 years? Dwayne, the owner is no host. Overall, the quality has deteriorated and the prices are high. ||||I’m not staying at the Brentwood again.

The place has deteriorated rapidly. I booked cabin 7 a year in advance, called to confirm three weeks prior, and then the resort called me the day of saying my cabin was rented long term. I was half way there on my 380 mile drive. They did put me in cabin 6. It doesn't have a kitchen. Plus, less room. They didn't lower the price to compensate for the changes. Don't risk staying there and ruining your trip.
