Bluegreen Vacations Christmas Mountain Village, an Ascend Collection Resort

I would have rated it 10 if the ski Bonny trail (for beginner level) was ready. Unfortunately it was closed during 12/20-25. The hotel itself was very clean, well equipped even with a can opener, dish soap, etc. it has been the best resort hotel we ever stayed (compared to Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, etc), and the price is very good. We would definitely consider it next winter if the ski beginner trails are open. This was our first ski trip and my children were quite disappointed at the closed trails.

I am writing this review to warn others to stay away from anything to do with Bluegreen Vacations Club. My timeshare ownership is at Christmas Mountain Village under Bluegreen. So many things I can talk about this company: terms and conditions that their salespeople did not disclose, dishonest and misleading information, and promises that were made during the sales pitch were not kept. When my late husband and I let them know of all the hardships of owning this timeshare, especially with the challenges in booking a vacation since availability is a perpetual problem, they told us that buying points would be a great step in solving that issue. COCKROACHES! I've held off on writing this review hoping they would offer some appropriate type of compensation for a nightmare weekend we experienced and we could all go on our merry way, but we haven't heard back from them in months so I feel no choice but to warn others.||We stayed in cabin 366 back in July. After crashing for the night and venturing out all day the next day, when we got back that evening, we discovered the place was crawling with cockroaches. When we discovered them, it was around 11:00 pm on Saturday night. An employee, Eric, promptly came to the cabin (great!), saw the cockroaches and said there wasn't much he could do - we'd need to talk to the manager in the morning?!?!? (Not so great!) He offered us free breakfast the next morning at their on-site restaurant. Hard

The picture on the booking didn't match our cabin. The staff in the restaurant by the coffee stood around talking to each other (had to ask for someone to help me). The lines for the snow tubes was very long and the kids got cold waiting so long, went down 4 times and it cost $40. They should limit the number of people. The outside fire was nice but far away from tubing so I had no view of what the kids were doing. A platform over there w heat would be nice. Bar service was great. Checkin service and concierge were great.

Booked during school Christmas break as a ski trip. They never bothered to mention that only about 1/3 of the ski runs were open. The bunny hill was closed and no ski instructors. Rather disappointing since it was school break, so that's when people could take their kids to learn how to ski. Kind of like having a golf resort and only offering 6 holes instead of 18.
