Customer Reviews
This little boutique hotel was a delightful discovery, providing *almost* everything I hope to find when I travel. So close to earning a nearly perfect 5-star review. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Room was squeaky clean, including the bedding & very comfortable bed. The refrigerator, cleverly tucked into a nightstand, came stocked with complimentary beverages and snacks. Sadly, no microwave or coffeemaker, so no lounging in the room to enjoy a leisurely morning routine. You'll have to dress and go to the lobby, where coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available any time. Terrific mid-town location made many points of interest walkable. This gem will be my go-to for future visits.
Unfortunately one in our party was diagnosed with COVID on 12/24 and we were unable to NYC to spend Christmas in town with our children. I called the front desk & was told there were no exceptions, could not reschedule to 1/3. The woman I spoke to said we could stay with Covid. No problem. I called Choice help desk & gentlemen I spoke to was wonderful. He advised we might be able to reschedule. He called hotel and said we would be charged whether we showed or not. There was nothing he could do based on ownership of the property. Apparently corporate is more flexible and understanding than this hotel.
3 stars = average. Stayed two nights. |The good: room size for NYC was very good, I was in a room with 2 full size beds, with lots of room -- a desk and chair, TV on the wall, small wardrobe for clothes, windows facing interior courtyard. Bathroom was nice size too - counter space, good hot water, sinks, good shower. Very quiet. |Could be better: few amenities in room, no coffee/tea, light above sink in bathroom was low wattage. |Yech: I spilled some water on the carpet and blotted it up with a towel. The carpet was filthy and the white towel looked like I had cleaned up a mud patch. Hotel mangement: time to clean the carpets!
The service was very good although the rooms was a little worn and small but clean. And although they do not have their own parking garage, there is one 200 ft away. And it's close to several nice restaurants and eateries.
We've stayed here twice now. Tiny hotel in a gray area. Rooms are clean and small. Some of the furniture is a little worn looking. Front desk staff are wonderful. Our room had some issues this time: Station for charging phones was broken Internet reception was poor and we were unable to load maps to plan our day. I think this was because our room was guarding level. I could load maps in the lobby. Very few electrical outlets and their placement made it difficult to charge phones. Lamps were all bright white LEDs with no option for dimming. Despite this, we appreciated having a reasonable place to stay in a great area that was clean and had friendly service.
