Customer Reviews
A quiet well groomed campground with easy access to beautiful scenery…definitely visit the Blackwater Falls nearby if you are able to walk stairs. Plenty of hiking available. Dining in the Smokehouse restaurant in the lodge a couple of miles away from the campground is a nice option if you want a break from camp cooking. Our camping site was level and roomy, but walking around we noticed a few that were not level and there was a large camper in one whose leveling jack was collapsing. The showers in the women’s bathroom were filthy and don’t look to be getting cleaned every day; perhaps a result of staff downsizing from DOGE cuts. I looked in all 3 shower stalls-all were dirty-I snapped a picture of one and nearly 24 hours later looked again and it was exactly the same-filthy with mud and g
Awesome experience for Labor Day Weekend 2022. We arrived Friday and check in was simple. The grounds are divided into two large loops with spots on each side. Back in spots and pull through spots are available. The lot to the left has a nice wooded feel with privacy and seclusion while the right loop is more open and spacious. Both loops have electric at each site and water stations through out. Each has their own wash house which were new, updated and very well maintained. The showers were awesome and did have shelves and hooks for personals. The place was super quiet, so quiet we had deer walk through our campground twice. Guests were very friendly and staff was always present picking up trash ir cleaning. Jeffery the camp host even stopped by to chat and sell us some firewood
Beautiful spot near the falls, great heated bathroom with showers and hot water. Electric at each campsite, nice for RVs and trailers.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We didn't like our initial spot and they allowed us to switch to a different campsite. Plenty of hiking trails around and the campgrounds are very open. However we found out why this place was called Blackwater Falls. The water is very murky and brown, almost sewage like color. It unfortunately turned us off to any sort of water activities we had planned. But if anyone is here solely for hiking or mountain biking, it's a nice spot. Also as an introvert, I wasn't a fan of the open campground aspect, i prefer a somewhat secluded or closed off space, but if anyone is doing a large family camping trip, there's a lot of open space for kids to roam.
Well spaced out sites. Bathroom was fine but it could really use some hooks in the showers. I was able to pick a site that allowed me to hang my hammock which was a plus. Nice and quiet except for the storm that rolled through.
