Alpine Lodge

Snow kept me up here visiting. Finally was able to book a room. Ive stayed here before. Owner clerk is clearly a busy guy A bit stand offish but personable. Bottom floor room old and aged mattress is aweful . But warm tv small fridge no micro wave. Interesting no microwave. Not a worry really. The Garrett in for the same money is much more my type but..I wanted a budget room . I got one. Heat is fabulous nice hot boiler. Tonight that best thing abiut this room.

We had a great stay at the Alpine Lodge. If you were expecting The Four Seasons in Davis West Virginia, you would be disappointed . However if you are in Davis to enjoy the great outdoors skiing, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, the Alpine Lodge would be just fine for you. The rooms are simple and clean and the service was great. The manager was very accommodating and the owner even stays there a couple nights per week.|We ate a fine breakfast at the Sawmill. There were lots of locals there eating breakfast there so we knew that we had come to the right place.

I have recreated in the highlands and Canaan Valley area for many years. I no longer live in the area and this was my first season visiting as an “out of towner”. We wanted to stay in Davis to walk to our favorite places and to support local businesses. I have driven past the Alpine Lodge and Sawmill Restaurant for years and always thought it was probably a charming family owned local staple. I had visions of staying here with my family every year as a vacation tradition and 2026 was our inaugural trip. First off, the price. The Alpine is the cheapest stay in Davis, but cheap in a ski town is not cheap elsewhere. You’d expect for what they charge, the service and rooms must be quite nice. Me and several friends were in town for a half marathon and stayed at the Alpine Lodge. The hotel was clean and comfortable and great for a group. The service was also great. I left an item at the hotel and the manager was helpful and mailed me the item free of charge.

We went for the Pickins in Parsons music fest. Well I’ll start by he price gouged for this week of the concert. Our room was 3 times the reg amount.😡. Manager was never available only at check in we got lucky the door was unlocked. We did have to Wait in parking lot until he took an employee home lol. He said hotel was full when we made reservations and we got the last room😂 parking lot was almost empty. The room was dirty Especially the shower floor bring a pair of sandals to wear in the shower. The beds didn’t have blankets but there was two in the closet. They were very old and cheap with holes in them. No WiFi or cell service It did have a TV that worked. I would not stay here again if he would have refunded our money and we could have moved to a different hotel we would have. Thankfu
