Birch Hill Suites Columbia

Immediately upon entering the building, we noticed an incredibly strong smell of pot. The rooms were not in great condition, many cabinets and drawers falling apart. My room was clean but the second room (for HS students) had numerous roaches in it. The staff didn’t seem concerned about this. Also, their smoke detector was hanging by its wires in the ceiling. Thankful for the value stay and friendly staff but I’ll look elsewhere in the future.

Typical cheap run-down motel by the highway: burns on the bed sheets, roaches, smoke and urine stench everywhere; broken and dirty doors, fridges and furniture. Very often there will be people fighting and arguing in the middle of the night; dogs and kids running around the corridors; loud music coming from other rooms. However, no one was rude or anything to me and the lady at the front desk was pleasant to talk to, but just be careful coming here, especially if you're a girl and coming alone. Before checking in they will allow you to inspect the room and cancel for free if you don't want to stay

Booked a non smoking room while we passed through town. Upon arrival the manager warned us that booking.com labels the hotel as smoke free but it is smoker friendly in all rooms. She was very honest and helpful and allowed us to cancel the reservation at no cost.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. They always go way out of their way to help me in any way that they can. Mrs. C is awesome! As is everyone that works here. If you need to stay somewhere in Columbia for an extended period of time, I highly recommend Birch Hill suites as their staff is amazing.
