Big Spring Lodge & Cabins

Great short loop hike. Several river overlooks and 136 steps.

I married my wife they're. In 1985 in late October. The local minister did the service outside of cabin 413 overlooking the current river. His wife took the photos. I don't remember there names. It was the greatest moment of my life. She loved this place so much. So did her mother.

They've done some renovations. It's like being in nature where you don't have to touch a blade of grass. Great place to go if you like getting harassed by federal tree police for simply being in a park.

So I just drove through it on my way to Kentucky to take photos. It looked like it closed down 20 years ago. The cabins were all out of service and there weren't many good views. Could have been because I didn't go to the right spots or it was closed down for the flooding that happened. I did no research before I showed up, but should I have to? Anyways, not impressed.

So beautiful. Glad I am a help to improve the area with all the work being done there. So far the coolest natural spring I've ever seen!
