Very nice campground and park. Most sites are gravel with water and electric (30/50 amp). Some sites have cement pads - all are level. The gravel sites may pose a challenge backing in and leaving, as tires sink into gravel. Campground is clean and tidy, well maintained. Single lane dump site. Some hiking around the grounds, bike riding is best kept to park roads. Lots to explore, and great for birding.
The Park was lovely, but many of the campsites are not suitable for RVs because the pads are on soft sand covered with a layer of bluestone. We got bogged and had to be towed out and learned this is a common problem.
Stayed for a week in Dec. The foliage is gorgeous! Just about every site has trees and shrubs making them nicely secluded from neighbor. There were lots of critters to see:several kinds of birds, deer, raccoons, opossums, turtles… The trails and walking bridges were well maintained and we were able to see a lot of wildlife. Bath house was clean with HOT water. Short drive to Perdido Bay beach (a lot of blue jellyfish washed up). Overall a great place I would visit again. Also dog friendly
Green park with campsites surrounded by nature with trails and easy access to the lagoon. Campground Description: This is a medium-sized campground with campsites tucked in the amongst the trees and bushes to provide privacy. It has a narrow one-way street all the way around the large loop with a few streets that cut across. The cut across streets would be challenging or impossible for big rigs and there were a few tight turns on the loop furthest from the entrance. Some of the areas of the roads can definitely use TLC because of asphalt crumbling and some low branches. Some of the campsites are challenging to back into because the main road is so narrow. Campsite # 71 This was a back in site with a sand pad. The sand was a bit soft if you stray off the driving area. Most of the campsites
This is a huge park with lots to do! 🙌🏻 Biking🚴🏻♂️ hiking 🥾 beaches⛱️ birding🦅. There is over 5 mi of trails including about a mile of boardwalks! They have several pavilions for events including a huge one called the Governor's Pavilion, with a huge covered chimney and grill. There's also an amphitheater! 🎭 It is not a huge camping area. And there is only one loop which is very busy. Every morning a vehicle goes by every couple of minutes! 😲. The campsites are not very deep so you must disconnect your vehicle. They are isolated from each other which is nice. 😀 The bath houses are 🫧 clean and have nice showers.🚿 You would think a campground this small, only 66 sites with hookups, would have only one bath house. But instead they have four! 😲 Including the one in the very back for the
