Best Western Shenandoah Inn

Currently staying at this hotel. I’m giving it a 3-star due to the friendliness of the staff, the location which is super convenient and in a great spot. The check-in process was super easy, along with the booking process. The only con really is the bed… beds definitely need to be upgraded as they’re insanely loud. Rolling over, getting up to use the restroom, or barely moving at all makes such a loud noise that my husband and I kept accidentally waking each other up due to the very loud metal frame. Our rooms were clean, despite a few stains on surfaces like tables, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Way better than expected. One of the nicer rooms I've visited. The beds were comfortable, nothing looked worn out in the room. I enjoyed the tv built in with Netflix and chrome cast. And the dispensable shower gel. Would definitely make this my designated place to stay when I'm in town

Let's start with the high points. Elizabeth, the General Manager, is top notch when it comes to customer service. She worked hard to answer questions and to accommodate an early check in request. This hotel seems to be frequented by trade workers and I was concerned about early morning noise as they left for work. I didn't hear a sound. The other guests were quiet and the hotel didn't have noise creep in from other rooms. The room was clean with clean sheet and towels. AC was fine. I have seen complaints about parking. This is a very small place and even though I had to park out front with my room on the other end it was about a 90 second walk.||||Before I list my concerns, if I were looking for a 2 to 2.5 star hotel I could stay here again. Positive: The price and location Negative: The room had an odd smell. The door had a gap when it was shut you could feel the air from outside, it was loose when closed and locked. The furniture was scratched up and outdated. The mini-fridge didn't work well. There was a noise from the bathroom.

My first stay here was fine, but when I came back I was told I “smoked in the room,” even though I didn’t. Funny thing is, the room already smelled like smoke when I checked in last time. The staff was nice and the stay was okay overall, I just didn’t appreciate being blamed for something that wasn’t me. It would help if the hotel kept better notes on situations like that, especially when guests check in to a room that already has a smell.
