Best Western Plus Lake City

Positive: LOCATION! Can't get any better than this ... right on 75! Room was nice. Bed was comfy. Negative: The food was awful! Not enough options. Egg had onions/peppers. Husband is allergic. Ham was nasty. It was a bit odd. You could tell it was an old hotel that they fixed up. There was a staircase with railings like you'd see at a Bed and Breakfast.

The positive for this location is by far Kayla an asset to the staff 2nd week on the job and shes a sweet heart. VET'S BEAWARE there are many new policy changes at this location! A credit card is required on file now for Hoptel's. Also your room is required to vacate before your scheduled appointment time.

*UPDATE* So since my stay 01 Dec 2025, I’ve been added to the “Do not rent list” closing all options for me to book a room as a VA patient in Lake City FL. So please be warned if you use this location & complain about your stay, you will be retaliated against & not allowed to rent any longer. This is such a shame that a business would react this way to a simple misunderstanding. V/R Chris ALCON, I just wanted to share my experience as a hotel guest here. We checked in @1505 on 01 Dec 2025 via Hoptel w/ the VA. As we checked in we were greeted with a kind welcome from the front desk clerk & then checked in. All was well until the next morning. We actually had a nice stay at the hotel itself — the room and overall experience were good. Unfortunately, the customer service completely ruined it. We accidentally booked the wrong dates far in advance (about half a year ahead). As soon as we noticed the mistake, we contacted the hotel to ask for a simple date change. This was flatly refused, without any flexibility or attempt to help. As a result, we were forced to make a second booking and effectively pay twice. I fully acknowledge that the initial mistake was mine. However, I genuinely do not understand how a date change so far in advance is impossible, especially when it would not have caused any loss to the hotel. This kind of rigid and unsympathetic policy feels unfair and very disappointing. It’s a shame, because otherwise the

Room was nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. No musky odors, thoroughly clean. Dining area was neat and clean with great hot breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The motel was easy access from the interstate in safe neighborhood with nearby restaurants and shopping. Even though it is near the interstate it was still quiet and peaceful.
