Best Western Plus Bradenton Gateway Hotel

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the gentleman at the front desk who was extremely friendly and welcoming. I wish I knew his name because he truly deserves recognition for how kind and professional he is. He makes check-in quick, easy and always makes you feel appreciated for choosing to stay there. The hotel itself is always clean, comfortable, and inviting. The rooms are cozy, the beds are comfortable and the Jacuzzi tub is the perfect way to unwind. You can tell the staff take great pride in keeping everything well-maintained and making guests feel at home. The prices are reasonable, which makes staying there an easy choice. This Best Western is the perfect place for a, peaceful getaway. Highly recommend!

The first room they gave us had a strong mold smell. When I asked to switch, I was told the mold odor was because it was an accessible room — which makes absolutely no sense.||The second room wasn’t any better. The floor was sticky, and the entire room reeked of cheap cleaning chemicals so strong they were suffocating. We actually had to use our own towels to wipe things down just to be able to breathe.||The mattress was so old and worn out it sagged toward the middle, forcing us into the center of the bed and leaving us with terrible back pain.||Even the bathtub was in rough shape, with large, sloppy patches and a sticky, unsafe floor.

Positive: Parking lots are very well lit could be due to the surrounding area. Negative: Listed as an 8+ however I would rate it as a 2+.the hotel needs refurbishment. A musty odor fills the air and plug in purifiers cannot going to resolve. Patchwork of repairs both in the hallways and in the rooms with unmatched paint. Sad hotel sad area.

Good location as you are a direct shot to Anna Maria Island (about 15 minute drive without traffic). Very nice front desk staff and good breakfast spread. Bed was comfortable, but our room had a slight musty/smoky smell. Was worth it for one night, but would suggest some efforts to attract people for longer stays.

I was hopeful for this hotel. But unfortunately the room and hotel did not match my expectations. The first room ceiling was covered in mold. So I asked for a new room giving them the benefit of doubt. I when I entered the new room floor was swollen from a bathroom flood and the furniture was covered in stains.I tried to stay but my throat was itchy and made it hard to breathe. Either from pet dander or the mildew.
