Courtyard by Marriott Bradenton Sarasota/Riverfront

Courtyard Marriott is beginning to look a little dated. We had a junior suite which was a lot of room with a tiny bathroom that had an Old Fashioned tub. Hard to imagine why they couldn't just take that little refrigerator spot out in the living room area and expand the bathroom a little. The room was comfortable but boasted on the website that it had a balcony. It's what they call a Juliet balcony which is no more than a foot of space beyond the door to walk out and look over. Not really a balcony. The people at the front desk and in the Bistro were very nice and pleasant and helpful. The food at the Bistro, while not free, was really good. The carpet on our floor was generally dirty and not vacuumed well. The whole place needs a bit of an upgrade but it sure is a good location!

This my third stay at this property. It's not a typical cookie-cutter Courtyard by Marriott. It's an expansive property with a very large "courtyard" that has been allowed to become neglected. Beautiful fountains in various levels of disrepair, they removed seating from areas where benches were obviously intended, and the fence near the river walk is busted down.... it could be so much better with some investment in maintenance and repairs. ||I agree with another poster that the hallways are dark... they need better lighting.||But the room I had on this visit, while old, seems to have been recently renovated. Carpet looked brand new. No mildew in the shower at all despite dated bathroom tile that looks to have been installed decades ago. Comfy beds and cold A/C. ||And this is the

Positive: The river was pretty Negative: Not one thing. The staff, including the manager was extremely rude because I brought my service dog with me. I was even told he could find me a different place to stay. I am putting in a formal complaint regarding this.

I am a lifetime Platinum member. Despite the great location, this hotel should be avoided. We were upgraded to a Jr Suite. The rooms are tired and the bathroom is in serious need of renovation or at least a deep cleaning. The entire hotel is dingy and unclean. The lobby has been renovated but you don’t sleep there. The ac sounded like a helicopter in the room no matter what setting. The hot water in the shower was down to trial and error rather than the normal obvious setting. Breakfast was below normal Courtyard Marriott standards. My in-laws joined in a separate room and had an abysmal experience. Failed temperature controls and the mystery hot water. I spoke to the customer service manager (Kenzie), she was indifferent and offered not even an apology. Value for money this hotel is low

Staff were very friendly. Perfect location if need to be near Manatee Memorial Hospital; can walk there. Riverwalk is great which is accessible by just walking through their parking lot to gain access. Bed was good & room temp adjustable. Nice gym. Didn’t eat at hotel but told they offer breakfast & dinner.
