Best Western Pawleys Island

I recently stayed at Best Western Pawleys Island for a funeral, which was a tough time for our family. Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel was not great.||When we arrived, Kim at the front desk told us our reservation was messed up. Instead of helping, she was dismissive and seemed more focused on blaming us, which was really frustrating, especially given the emotional situation. I also noticed multiple charges on my card, but she just brushed it off, saying they were pending refunds.||The hotel itself didn’t help either. The rooms felt worn and outdated, and the carpet had a terrible smell. Applying MY money that you took for a fee that should never have been charged? That's hardly the level of effort I expected. But maybe I’m just naïve for thinking I could get decent customer service and professionalism from Best Western. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! Sometime in spring of 2025 I went inside this best western and asked permission to leave my work truck overnight and on the weekends when Im not working. Only because I live in the neighborhood behind it and my hoa doesnt allow it in the neighborhood. I was told by one of the staff members that this would be fine as long as I don't block anyone from coming or going. So for over half a year I've been driving my car there and switching vehicles daily. Today when I got off work and went to drop my truck off and get into my car, I found my car missing. DIRTY ROOMS. THEY DO NOT CLEAN DURING YOUR STAY and this is their policy. For the duration of our stay, they did not make beds (much less change the sheets), clean the bathroom, vacuum, dust, clean coffee maker or replace bag for ice bin. I had a reservation for 4 people and was provided 2 towels. I asked for more each day I was there and was told they did not have any. I was provided 2 half size pool towels that were very scratchy. I was told I could not have more than the 2 additional pool towels. Evening staff was rude. Housekeeping staff was seen sitting on the bed and just watching TV of a room they were supposed to clean.
