This hotel is inexpensive, the room was clean, its quiet so you can get some sleep. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great, relatively short distance away from Ithaca and Binghamton. Plenty of food options around - apart from the obvious fast food choices (McDonalds is a short walk away), there are some good restaurants in Owego - check out MJ’s, for example.

For the Best Western in Owego NY. Conf. 896151552 - The boy at the desk charged my card enough times to trigger a fraud alert and hold on the card. and then asked how the incidentals fee of $50, that I admittedly missed when booking, was going to be paid. Unwilling to accommodate other then accepting cash this ONE time. I know this sounds petty but honestly have not encountered this in budget hotels in the area before. The boy put my cash in envelope, then in a drawer and upon checkout he said housekeeping would preform this inspection. Upon checkout 6hrs later no inspection of the room for damage or theft. Awesome team! The room was comfortable, and main bed mattress was great! (sleeper sofa mattress was expectedly thin). Common areas where well kept, and the 24 hour coffee was a nice touch. The morning breakfast was tasty and well stocked.||That said, the team had some challenges. Some cleaning tasks (e.g., sink in our room) were missed, and many room fixtures (e.g. faucet, furniture) etc. are clearly dated. However, the staff was extremely attentive and very responsive to the issues we raised. I saw several staff members doing different jobs to pitch in to meet guest needs. ||Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and hope the hotel can expand cleaning staff; enhance training, upgrade fixtures, and enhance hot water capacity (for extremely full periods).

Positive: Location. Negative: Room smelled, was dirty, and clothing under bed that were from a previous guest. They still have not made it right ole ween later.

I travel extensively and I have stayed in some not-so-very-nice hotels. The Best Western in Oswego, NY, ranks among the worst I have ever encountered. I should have taken more notice when I drove up and saw 4 employees who bore a strong resemblance to the cast of Deliverance sitting outside smoking. They definitely gave me the proverbial 'once over' when I exited my vehicle to walk inside.
