Best Western - On The Avenue

Room was fine. However, they do not have enough parking space to accommodate all guests, despite parking being included. We returned from a concert late at night and were told to park in the next lot over, but to move by 7AM as we aren't actually supposed to park there. Shifty alternative. Instead, we parked in a public lot a couple blocks away. If you're someone who needs on site parking, I recommend staying at a different location.

A friend and I stayed here for the night so that we could enjoy a benefit and not have to drive back home. The front desk staff were beyond great, pretty much all staff we came in contact with were. The price wasn't crazy and you get free parking which was a big plus. The only complaint we had was the shampoo was empty in the room and had been for a while. And the window was very drafty and you could hear the wind all night coming though it. But other then that we loved the stay, will definity be back.

I've been staying at this Best Western for about 10 years. It is getting a bit raggedy. The beds were clean and comfy but the curtains were shredding and the corners of the bathroom floor were grimy. The breakfast is simple but lovely, the dining furniture however is shabby and worn. We were apparently there for a Hockey event weekend and there was only one space left at the very end of the lot both Friday and Saturday nights. Even the handicap spot (for which we have a tag) was occupied by a non handicapped vehicle. I suspect many of the vehicles were those not of guests, but guests of guests. There were empty beer cans in the lobby and on the elevators Saturday night.

Positive: "" Negative: The shower/bathroom was terrible. The shower was with the toilet in a closet like room with a sliding door. The shower was completely open and water would get all over the entire room. There was also no bathroom fan so it got extremely hot.

This BW appears to be a fairly recent construction with newer furnishings and clean rooms. The rates were reasonable and staff were very friendly & helpful. And don’t miss the complementary breakfast which is well-stocked and has a wide variety of choices. The only thing we didn’t care for were the “shag” throw rugs alongside our bed….seems like a difficult thing to keep clean.
