Best Western of Lake George

Was not very impressed . We get there in the bathroom there is 1 towel to shower with for a family of 4. I went to the front to get more towels and was told we only have one more we can give you like WHAT?? Breakfast was uh normal they did have sausage and biscuits but no biscuits left at 9 . Room had black mold on shower ceiling toilet hardly flushed . And there was also black mold on the window casing. Hot tub was nice and pool was nice that was about the nicest part of the hotel .

We love the BW! This was a perfect getaway for October. The rooms were clean, it was seemingly quiet most of the weekend and the pool was clean. Elsie the breakfast manager is amazing!!! Breakfast was always hot and stocked with everything it needed. Elsie made sure to fill anything that was looking empty & happily made her way around chatting with guests while doing so. She was the only one doing breakfast and Saturday and Sunday were very busy days. I hope the BW knows what an asset she is & how amazing she is with the guests. I looked forward to breakfast just so we can chat with her. The only drawback I had was the towels were never stocked in the pool and it seems short staffed when it comes to cleaning people and front desk people. Other than that our stay was great.

Last day, an old gray haired lady got involved in 3 loud incidents by berating me 3 separate incidents because I made waffles not the way she allows. After getting permission from front desk to get a coffee to go, Granny told me I wasn't allowed.

I have been going to Lake George every year for the past 30 years. Each year we try a different hotel. This year we went to Best Western. It is a good economy hotel. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable. Like in all BW, there was a free continental breakfast. The premises is supposed to have been renovated but it looks more like the '70s style, but I don't mind, nice wooden finishes. Located on I-87 exit and walking distance to Lake George village. We were pleasantly surprised by the indoor pool. It is small but the temperature was 91° which was PERFECT. Very often in other hotels the heated pool is too cold (like 82-84°). Keep the temperature like that and we will go back. During summer, the hotel also has an outdoor pool.

I’ll start with the positives. This hotel is located right off the highway and very close to the town of Lake George. The woman working the breakfast in the morning was very kind and helpful. That’s it. As someone who travels frequently, this was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, which is ironic since it’s called the “Best” Western. The bedsheets were permanently stained. The pillows for a king-sized bed were the size of throw pillows. The bed itself was hard as a rock. The bathroom walls were absolutely covered in black mold and you can tell the shower has never seen a good scrubbing. There was trash on the floor and a hard candy got stuck to the bottom of my sock.
