Best Western Inn & Suites San Mateo - San Francisco Airport

Stayed at the hotel as a gift from my kids. It was within walking distance to their house. The room was nice, plenty of room. Even though I was near the elevator it was not that noisy. Housekeeping did a good job. The breakfast was good. The gym was adequate and had dumbbells.

Positive: Staff was excellent, gave me a quiet room toward the back as I’d requested. New EV chargers are great! Good that they allow limiting the kWh delivered so you don’t need to charge the car all the way. Negative: Cleaning of room was less than perfect, one cover was stained and the bathtub did not look like it had been cleaned Just a little less than ideal. Overall very satisfied w/the room & hotel, many nights here and I plan to return.

The price is right, service is great, but the rooms are dated. I booked a king bed room and stayed in room 208 for the first night. Room 208 appeared very worn and there was a noticeable odor of cleaning chemicals. Additionally, the room had a door which opened out to the lobby below on the other side. Noises and conversations from the lobby carried into the room, and I heard several conversations, even as late as 2 AM. Any of the rooms near 208 will likely have the same issue. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to immediately move me to room 406 the next day. Room 406 appeared to be in much better condition. It was a great stay but the only reason I’m giving a 4 is because they had an offer there that if you stayed 3 nights you got 50 Dollars voucher and the staff never mentioned it. Even when I asked, the lady at the reception gave me a phone number to call…. Come on… you should give the client the voucher. What should the client call anyone?! Did he stay? Did he pay? Were they good guests?! Very close to a Golf Course and an amazing park and a trail along the beach. 😇 Supernice That’s it.

Ed at the front desk is amazing, always has a smile on his face and happy to help. He even remembered me a month later. The rooms are a little dated but not bad for a night when you’re in town. The breakfast options have something for everyone. Would recommend for great service. Thanks Ed!
