Nice, older art deco hotel. Great location in Hells Kitchen/Midtown area, we walked about everywhere on our mild November weekend- Central Park, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Times Square. For NY, rooms are spacious, we had 2 double beds with windows (2 narrow ones) facing 48th with a decent city view. Note, windows do open, but I think for this fact they are by no means sound proof. Bring ear plugs, white noise app to drown out some of the sirens, etc. through the night, normal big city life, even on the 12th floor. The 2 windows did have pull down shades, but did have early morning sunrise shining through the corners, so I was thankful for a sleep mask. Small fitness center, but no lobby bar, gift shop, or convenience store, but plenty close by- restaurants literally next door, (Italian,
Positive: Location was excellent. Right off of Times Square in the Theatre District. Negative: Windows are old and thin. Construction noise kept us up most of one night. Window A/C was loud and small, requiring that it run most of the night. Just overall noisy stay. We've stayed at quieter midtown locations. Front desk staff unfriendly/distracted.
Such a steal! Location is perfect if you’re looking to catch some Broadway shows, and room was a nice size. Front desk was wonderful. Bellhops were helpful, but if you store your luggage they might try and book a taxi for you.. we had asked bellhop what time to leave for airport, and when we got back later than planned a different bellhop was frustrated because a taxi had been waiting for us and left.
Booked this hotel based on location and price but didn’t have high hopes based on some reviews. I was pleasantly surprised! Love the concierge doorman service and the valet service. HOWEVER they said it was $55 on the phone for valet and it was actually $80. Self park is $55. Since we were only here for 1 day we said fine and let it be valet. The staff was nice and we did the “run of the house” room selection. We asked for 2 doubles and we received what we requested and were able to check in early and got a great room on the 12th floor. I loved the old world decor and the rooms were updated with a nice kitchenette and granite/quartz counters in there and bathroom. The location was optimal!! We were able to get to Central Park and then take the E train down to the World Trade Center and s
Can't beat it. I have stayed here multiple times when I come to NY for a theater weekend. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfy. Safe area with walking distance to the theater district, the park, and Times Square. A great place to stay for tourists.
