Pretty busy day at Bear Mountain. A lot of young folk skiing and snowboarding on this mountain. They’ve only been able to make the snow with the machines because it’s been a dismal year for natural snow. Not all the runs are open and they’re still charging full price, which is absolutely ridiculous. Slopes get crowded people get knocked over. It’s just unsafe and overpriced. I mean come on, everyone should be able to enjoy this sport & this mountain. So sad. Decided to grab a seat and get a cocktail and even the skinny margarita was horrible. I gave it three stars because the beauty of the mountain and they have some nice little areas here. Going to head over to Snow Summit😣

I had to spend a a grueling 30-40 minutes hiking through 24"+ snow because of the complete lack of signage at the entrance to sugarloaf truck trail. I KNOW THIS ISN'T AN OFFICIAL BIG BEAR SKIL TRAIL, BUT IT RUNS THROUGH YOUR RESORT! Half a dozen other people got stuck and had to hike out too. Ridiculous AND very dangerous!!! Victor on ski patrol needs to quit if he isn't focused on basic safety measures and rudimentary customer service. Below you can see a picture of the entrance to the trail (a truck trail, not an official ski trail) which is clearly not marked despite at least one ski patrol person on the phone telling me oh everything is marked over there but then another person telling me yeah it's not our policy to put up ropes... Every other resort I've ever been to in the last 30

Its a great place when there is snow. Unfortunately they still charge full price even when 1/3 of the runs are open. Overcrowding with less runs means you get knocked over at least twice during the day, and you fall when you hit ice and continue down the hill on your butt or belly. I wouldn't have minded paying 1/3 of the price to only go down 1/3 of the runs.

I Love learning how to slide down the mountain & in Joy being in nature! Not a gym person... don't like being stuck indoors and sometimes struggle with social anxiety... Being outdoors and feeling the expansive natural environment of nature herself feels so good! I started doing this for my mental and physical and emotional health. 🎿🏔️👍💌 Good luck to everyone here on Earth-ship!
