Baymont by Wyndham Sioux Falls North/I-29/Russell St

The staff are wonderful but the hotel is not. The hotel is older and very run down. The rooms are advertised as non smoking, but immediately upon entering the lobby, all you could smell was cigarette smoke and weed. The room was musty and the top sheets and comfort had hair and chunks of stuff, bath tub and sink had hair in them. The bed closest to the wall has a huge indent where people have consistently sat, and I wasn't able to sleep on that side due to the huge dip. Our tub was not draining but they were quick to fix the issue. There were several rooms with kids that were screaming and throwing things into the hall off and on. Pool was warm but full of hair and definitely needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was a pretty standard and hot.

Positive: Comfortable bed. Breakfast was average but not terrible. Negative: The bathroom floor wasn't clean around the toilets and wall edges. I used personal cleaning wipes to clean the toilet area myself. Lots of small hairs and urine splashes by feet area of toilet. Location isn't the best with addicts around all night.

Most disgusting hotel room I've seen in awhile. Floor immediately flooded every time I tried to use the shower. When I tried to use a towel to dry some of the flooding up, all kinds of brown residue came up with it. Feet turned black from walking barefoot on the carpet. Hair in the sheets and the sink upon check in. Dead bugs in the (very dim) lights, and woke up with bug bites from something in the room. Rooms smell like a mix of sewage, mold, and rotting food. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Worst experience ever. I called around 3am to book a room. I stated that I would only be there for 10 hours and was using a CLC card ( a company issued card used by truck drivers). I asked if the CLC card was an acceptable form of payment. After sitting on hold for 20 minutes I was told that the card was acceptable and I could check in as soon as I arrived. When I arrived at around 3:40am, the receptionist was having trouble charging the card for the room. She gave me a room and said she would deal with the matter when the manager arrived. When the owner showed up he busted into my room demanding that I pay for the room and that the hotel did not accept CLC cards. He was very aggressive and tried to unlawfully detain me. Someone was banging on my wall all night so I couldn’t sleep. I went down and asked for a refund or switch rooms both of which the manager David denies. So I called Wyndham and opened a case and then David unlocks my room 3 hours before checkout saying since I opened a Wyndham case that means I checked out and said I have to leave or he’ll call police. Then he comes in and says since I used a towel to wipe off some mud that he will charge me an additional $50 and he does. Also all their beds have stains on the sheets. I switched rooms when I first checked in and they were stained again. Vent fan in bathroom doesn’t work neither. AC makes a nonstop screechy sound so you can’t run it while you sleep.
