Baymont by Wyndham Lake George

Our entire stay here was a disappointment. Won't be staying at a Wyndham again. My family stayed here for a quick weekend getaway. We had stayed at this property for the same reason a few years ago when it was an Econolodge; expected the same level of stay or maybe better because of the new branding. We were greeted with the news that the outdoor pool was closed "because it had issues." The indoor pool area was unusable because of some sort of fumes that burned our eyes and noses while we were in the room and for about 15 minutes after we left; and the hot tube was drained. Our room was infested with ants (I'd attach the photo if I could) and smelled mildewy. Also the toilet seat was broken. A motorcycle convention was staying at the hotel, which is fine, but when they come in at 1:30

I chose this motel because it had continental breakfast...or so the website claimed. It did not have breakfast at all, just a tiny little coffee maker in the room. It also advertised to have a pool. There was a pool, but it was empty. When I went to check in, the guy working there said the key card didn't work to our room so he'd have to open it manually. Anytime I wanted to get in I'd have to get the guy which was extremely annoying. Lastly, I reserved a room with two queen beds and mine was two doubles. When I mentioned it to the guy he claimed they were queen beds. They honestly even felt small for double beds. I will definitely not be returning here. Don't waste your money.

Not great but there were bright spots. Let’s peach and pit this thing…||PEACH: large room, quiet room, we had room on second floor towards back and had nice wooded view, clean floors, front-desk gal was nice, hanging baskets outside with flowers were nice, close to Lake George attractions ||PIT: mascara stains on pillowcase, stained towels, mildew on bathroom ceiling, 2 towels provided for room, dated decor, floors felt creaky in some spots like if you were to jump you might, at some point, fall through the floor, pool partially drained||We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and secured this room last minute. We were grateful for a quiet place to stay and spread out but would search for other accommodations if ever in the area again.

The smoke detector had been removed and the wires were hanging down from the whole in the ceiling where it had been. The key reader was dead so we could not access our room and the staff apologized but would not help other than providing a knife and screwdriver for us to break into our own room. The location is excellent, a very short walk to the lake.

I booked my room a year in advance (for the ADK Nationals). The hotel called me the Sunday before my stay the following Saturday to tell me that the reservation was cancelled. Nancy's excuses were (1) everyone books from Thur-Sun, (2) not enough doors on the rooms, (3) not enough locks on the doors. If I would have let her continue I am sure that God and Jesus would have been blamed for their incompetence. Yes, I know this is quite a dump of a hotel and shouldn't expect great service, but what they did is incomprehensible and a tribute to their incompetence. Stay away.
