Balboa Park Hotel

I recently stayed there for a weekend. And it was amazing! Super easy to access, clean, and very convinient! Staff is super nice and the vibe of the place is awesome! Definitely coming back!

I would almost call this place a “Scam”. Pictures make it look so nice. But the rooms are super small, cheaply appointed, no control of HVAC, bad views, cheap towels, no reachable outlets within reach of bedside, no staff. Shades don’t close, tons of street noise. I’m extremely disappointed. My room is so cold, I won’t be able to sleep tonight.

Great spot for a couple nights in downtown SD. Very close to little Italy. I walked there, 8 minutes or so. Room was perfect for what I needed. Clean, friendly staff and close to where I was visiting.

Terrible, please read all the negative reviews because they’re telling the truth. This place is truthfully a scam. I originally booked 5 nights with this hotel, but was only able to spend one night due to my door malfunctioning and not opening. I tried contacting someone in the front office but NO ONE answered!!! To make matters worse I had to book a new hotel and the management team at the balboa hotel refused to refund me my money for the remaining nights due to their “cancellation policy”. If you value your money, time, and sanity do yourself a favor and don’t book here. If you read this and still decide to stay at the Balboa Hotel, you’re a fool!!

The room was extremely small and did not look like the listing photos. Soundproofing is very poor you can hear every footstep and even minor noises, with people yelling as late as 4 a.m. The property is right by the street, the windows cannot fully close, and street noise starts early in the morning. The area felt uncomfortable, with homeless and intoxicated individuals around. This stay does not match the price charged.
