avid hotel Ocala Downtown by IHG

This was my second stay at the Avid Hotel in Ocala, and unfortunately it was very disappointing compared to my first visit in December 2025, which is why I chose to return. One of the reasons I liked this hotel initially was that it allows pets, making it convenient when I travel with my daughter and our animals. When my daughter and I checked into Room 118, the room had a strong unpleasant odor and clearly had not been cleaned thoroughly. This was very different from my experience during my first stay. After noticing the condition of the room, I immediately went back to the front desk to inform the staff member. She explained that several cleaning staff had walked out earlier that day. Nice hotel in an ok location in downtown Ocala. Busy area. Not really walkable to restaurants. Good staff - easy check in and check out. Good breakfast. Great value. Clean room. We’ll probably stay closer to the highway next time through.

Positive: Hotel staff and cleanliness of the hotel interior and exterior. Our room was clean minus a little mold in the corner of our shower. Negative: The hotel is very noisy. The hotel isn’t very sound proof. I listened to vehicles driving by the hotel all night and could hear people walking around in the room in the floor above mine.

What an incredible hotel. So glad we stayed here. Customer service was tremendous. Room was really nice. Great bed. Comfortable pillows and great healthy choices for breakfast. Our first stay at an Acid hotel but it won’t be our last! Best of the very Best Experiences.

Stayed here overnight during a road trip. The hotel is conveniently located close to Highway I-75, which made it a great stop. Rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. The overall property felt well-maintained. Breakfast/food options were okay, nothing special but sufficient for a quick stay. One small downside: as a Platinum Elite member, I wasn’t offered any welcome snacks or acknowledgment at check-in, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, a good value for a short overnight stay, especially for travelers passing through the area. Would stay again for convenience and cleanliness.
