Authors Guesthouse Key West

I cannot rave about this place enough, and I am not sure what the bad reviews are even talking about. The customer service we had was AMAZING! We called earlier in the day to let them know that we might be a little late due to some traffic we had run in to. They where so incredibly kind and gave us the late check in option, with clear instructions, we just had to stop by in the morning to make sure everything was okay with our check in. They do leave at a certain time, and the desk is NOT manned 24/7 which is clearly stated, but we called and they where happy to help us. Location- it is far enough away from everything that you wont be kept up by noise, but also close enough that everything was a 15-30 minute walk or 10 minute uber ride. It’s a cozy little place, conveniently located about a 15-minute walk from bustling Duval Street. Our room (“Artist”) was somewhat dated—especially the bathroom—but perfectly fine for a short 1–2 night stay. On-site parking is available, though limited to just two spots, but there is also free street parking nearby. The continental breakfast is simple but adequate, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Considering the generally high accommodation costs in Key West, this place offers good value for the price.

We stayed in the William guesthouse, so lovely. Very clean with a comfy bed, large bathroom. We went in the hot tub every night after walking to the beach and restaurants. I had morning coffee sitting in the courtyard and/or sitting on our lil porch outside the front door. Complimentary breakfast offerings were extensive, bagels, danish, coffee teas, fruits, morning granola & cereals. |We hated to leave but assured them we would be back soon!|Thank you so much - Kevin & Ellen

Great location, rooms were fairly clean. The smoke detector in our room went off 3 times during the night so we did get any sleep. When we advised the front desk the lady didn’t really seem to care. I don’t think I will ever go back.

Authors is a really nice place to stay. |Far enough away from Duval street to be quiet but close enough to walk in 15 minutes. |The room was lovely, sweet smelling and impeccably clean. |The staff are all really helpful and welcoming. |Continental breakfast is good. |All in all a great, good value place to stay in Key West old town.
