Auberge Chesley's Inn

The building is lovely, clean, and well appointed. The rooms are comfortable, though the bathrooms small which could be challenging for mobility challenged guests. Recommendations about local eateries were fantastic and the host is interesting if not very diplomatic in his views toward the United States and its administration. It made for a very uncomfortable breakfast. The decor is eclectic though it does include several prominently placed Satanic statues (Baphomet). They are visible in the online pictures (in the dining room and under the glass cloche in the upstairs landing). We were not invited to use the common areas. We arrived to breakfast 15 minutes early to enjoy some coffee as a group around the table as we waited. Our host greeted us by saying "I thought 8:30 meant 8:30".

Our stay at this charming B&B in Cornwall, Ontario, was absolutely delightful! The place is like stepping into a beautifully curated museum, filled with stunning antiques and decorated with such exquisite taste—clearly, the proprietor has an eye for design. I was especially impressed by the soft, luxurious towels in the bathroom and the attention to detail, like real glass glasses (no plastic!) provided for guests. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the proprietor went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He kindly recommended a great spot for dinner in town and was thoughtful enough to allow us to store our bicycles in his garage, which was a huge plus for us as cyclists. We stayed a night in this lovley very clean inn after a day of cycling and gearing up for a day of kayaking at Long Sault Parkway. We booked the Tudor Roon and the bed was comfy. The room and adjoining bathroom was well appointed and had individual air conditioning if needed. We walked to dinner with many choices easily within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious with very generous portions. Robert was a kind host who provided a locked garage for our bikes. A very nice overnight.

We spent three nights here in the Governor’s Suite and enjoyed our stay very much. The Inn has been lovingly and meticulously restored in every way. We enjoyed being greeted by Hamish, the little Scottie Dog who was the Master of the House! Breakfast was always a nice time to meet other folks staying in the remaining two rooms. The breakfasts showcased fresh and local ingredients. The Inn is well located to restaurants, shops and the river. Highly recommend.

This is the first time my husband and I stayed at a B&B and it was a lovely experience. Robert was very accommodating when we arrived at 10:30am since we wanted to enjoy our weekend in Cornwall, and even though he couldn’t have us check-in early, he was very nice in letting us leave our luggage at the Inn so we could explore the city. Chesley’s is an attraction in itself - I’d say our favorite thing about Cornwall, actually - and our stay was lovely. Hamish is a sweetheart of a dog and we spent some time in the garden just… being really, because it is a delightful place. If I could describe it with cultural references, I’d say this Inn comes out of the pages of a Jane Austen novel but make it Gilmore Girls.
