Atlantis Family Waterpark Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

We just stayed in the Volcano suite. 4 kids and two adults for 3 nights. It was absolutely fabulous! We had the most amazing time! The water park was awesome! Very warm water, and the little kiddies thought the play area was so fun! Our room was HUGE! And so was the whirlpool that was in it too! It was like a full size hot tub!! The beds were so comfortable, and we all loved the round sofa bed! The staff was so friendly and nice and even gave us coupons for 2 free shakes at the restaurant nearby and they were big enough to fill all 6 of us up with some left over! Thank you Atlantis and staff for a vacation we will always remember and cherish! We hope to stay again next year!!

Mixed feelings about our stay there. Rooms were very dated, but clean. The place is huge and I really liked the bigger water park that was located more inside (instead of right off the lobby. What I wasnt happy with is finding out that "$50 extra fee that they (and other hotels charge) upon check in, was indeed charged to my credit card I later found out. I was told it wouldn't be charged.

The service at the desk is smiley, friendly and helpful. They checked in on us and gave our family of 6 many towels and utensils when needed. But my god, the cleanliness in this hotel is disgusting. My “fresh and new” bed has so much sand. There is mold in the bathrooms. There are random crumbs all over the floor and hasn’t been vacuumed in a while. The lobby overly scented with fragrance to hide the chlorine and mold smell. There is ants in the rooms and pool. The pool has incredible fumes that burns your eyes and makes you cough. My child said she was about to throw up because the fumes. Why is there sand in a hot tub? There is brown dirty grime on my swimsuit and the chlorine turned it yellow. Overall, it definitely needs to be maintained and cleaned.

We went in January and we enjoyed our visit. The hot tub was kind of stained and I was wondering if it was stained or dirty. however our rooms were clean and very nice. Our room was very spacious. The kiddy pool and large pool were clean It was the off season so there was no food or beverages offered. However there are plenty of places to order in. I wanted a place for the grandkids to swim with not being overwhelmed with a large water park. I found this very relaxing as it was easy to keep an eye on all the kids while swimming.

We had a great stop while traveling through. We travel as a family a lot and usually look for cheap yet quality things to do. This was more than. A pleasant surprise. We found it (off season) for less than $100. We got in late and they were able to accommodate a late check out. The indoor pool and whirlpool were a great surprise for the kids to let off some steam after 16 hours of drive. It was quiet and rooms were exceptionally clean. It also did not have that weird hotel or cleaning smell that I hate. If you're picky the only note I would have is that the pool area is dated. And had one small slide down. My kids and I had a great time anyway. We will come stay again for sure.
