Astoria Hotel Danville West

My fiancé and I have stayed at this motel off and on for a little over 3 years now (since loosing our home in a fire). This is the one we prefer over the other's in the area because their service has almost always been 10/10. They have a new couple that alternate working the front desk now and they have fallen right into place with respectfulness and they are also very hospitable. They have demonstrated great patience with us when we have gotten the payment together later than the preferred time. They have also worked with us on discounts and price matching those that are online when those options are the cheapest. Dramatically failed the white sock test. Carpets very dirty and I would suggest when they consider remodel they install comp vinyl/wood look floors. Food from previous guests left in crevices of fridge and on carpets around the perimeters of the room. No matter rooms for non-smoking, they still smell of smoke. Days later our clothes smell like the room smelled. Fellow in room next to us, a non-smoking room, sat in his doorway smoking cigarettes and drinking beers. Small, thin but adequate towels. Garbage in the stairwells and parking lot for 4 days never moved or cleaned. Pool cloudy. Some very seedy characters living/staying here so spare yourselves unless you have a need to experience the other side of society. This is not easy to say - I'm just being totally honest. Great price. Rooms are improving. Added upgrades from our last stay 7 months ago. Keurig in the room, new microwave, smelles clean. Very helpful staff. Concerned about us and if we needed anything.

My Stay here was wonderful! I drove here from Georgia and the staff made my stay her very comfortable!
