Ranked near bottom in recent Ski Destinations, yet Snowmass was 2nd or 3rd only behind Vail on the freeway. All areas have their pluses and negatives, none are dull and without fun things to do even in off season, liked all 3 for different reasons, fun trying them all.

Money hungry town that drives away anybody but the elite. Ill only ski resort on my pass and bring all food, drinks, gas, etc.. not worth giving any of your hard earned money to this town. This town doesnt like outsiders and I dont like this town. Even the visitor information center doesnt want to help the public. Be prepared to park 5 miles out of town and spend half your day on the bus. Honestly the terrain isnt worth it. Ski somewhere else. Its cheaper and more fun.

Very expensive city. Overrated in my opinion. All restaurants expensive to very expensive. Stores, very expensive. Ladies at the tourist center, volunteers for sure, not very helpful. If you ask for cheaper places to eat, an entire conversation starts. And you end up knowing less than you've known before you ask for info. Their conclusion, and yours too, wanted or not. There are no cheap places to eat in Aspen. And you know what? They are right. They have a very nice thrift store, always very busy. I cannot imagine why? Lol If you travel to Aspen through Independence Pass, be prepared for rain, snow, high altitude roads, some portions very dangerous. But worth it, I would say. Only if you are ready not to be a chicken. If you are, take an alternate route. Which I do not know

Beautiful scenery, people walking and riding bikes everywhere. Lots of places to eat, and friendly people. The grocery store was super crowded though, and too small.
