Customer Reviews
I stayed here for a solo trip. I used Amex points and got nice benefits for booking that way, so that may have colored my experience. However, I loved it. The specialty cocktails at the rooftop bar and the food I had on the top level (fries, avocado toast, breakfast potatoes) were great. The yuzu cocktail was my personal favorite. The room (deluxe king) seemed like it was meant for couples. The shower that was open to the rest of the room minus a curtain may be weird for people staying together otherwise. I enjoyed talking to the front desk staff, who had nice recommendations and seemed to truly love engaging with guests. I'm glad I decided to stay here. Overall, it felt fun, safe and welcoming.
Positive: Rooms were very nice, showers set up was weird though Negative: No parking, no early check in
The Andaz San Diego Gaslamp is a great hotel in a great area. Lots of great restaurants, bars, clubs, and comedy nearby. The gym is small but there is good equipment and they had everything I need. The rooftop bar was a very cool spot. Go for happy hour and the drinks are fairly reasonable. Junior is the bartender at the Rooftop bar and he was very professional and made great drinks with great service.
Andaz has a chic design, great art and luxury experience from lobby to suite. Didn’t stay ling enough to enjoy the rooftop pool but would had we stayed longer. Breakfast on the roof was excellent and Jesse and the staff were perfect! Definitely coming back!
This is honestly the worst Andaz I’ve ever stayed at — calling it a 3-star hotel wouldn’t be an exaggeration. • The shower temperature is almost impossible to control: it’s either freezing cold or suddenly burning hot. • No complimentary bottled water in the room. The only option is a $9 paid bottle, and they “encourage” you to refill water yourself at the station on each floor. • No minibar / snack bar in the room either. Instead, there’s an awkward little convenience store on the first floor. • The gym is laughably small and extremely basic. In the morning, it’s not uncommon to see 6–7 people standing around inside because there’s simply no space or equipment. • No free slippers or basic toiletries in the room (you can call the front desk and maybe they’ll deliver them 10–15 minutes late
