Anchor Pier Lodge

A real hidden treasure. I would stay there again year round in this cozy room. Mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave in room. Also provides earplugs and a sound machine - the sea lions bark 24/7. Part of the charm, we felt. Note: steep stairs, no free/off street parking. Lots of amazing shops (Bohemian Candle is across the street) and places to eat within an easy walk.

Just got home from my third visit to Anchor Pier Lodge. I love everything about this place. They have 5 rooms that are always sparkly clean. Each one is a different theme - my favorite is called Ocean Edge. I call ahead so I can get this room (sometimes I leave a message & they always get back to me like old friends happy to hear from me!). My room is loaded with dreamy aqua & blue tones with an elegant beachy feel. I walk the bayfront & the beaches to return to a bubbly soaking tub followed by such a cozy bed piled high with a poofy duvet - my family says it's my "Salt Water Spa" - Yep!!! ||The entire staff are all so nice, from check-in to their recommendations for fun & food all over Newport. Absolutely amazing room. Stayed in the Coastal Garden room which provided some fantastic views and sounds from the harbor below. Sea lions are right outside and you'll hear them barking a good bit. But if you're a wildlife lover like me, then it is just music to your ears. They do provide a sound machine and ear plugs for those who don't like the barking and harbor sounds.

This place was amazing!!! The staff were so kind and helpful! The room we stayed in was perfect!! I think the only thing that kind of sucked was there no dvd player. With nothing really on tv, it would have been nice to watch a movie instead. |The view was unbelievable from the deck. I never thought I would hear myself say how beautiful the bay is, until now. The sea lions were the perfect background noise. I could listen to them all day! We celebrated our anniversary there this last weekend. We got spoiled by having champagne with wine glasses waiting for us up in our room. Every room is a different theme. I can't wait to go back and try out another room.

After wandering the streets of Newport and enjoying the eclectic little port town, I stumbled on a photo of the Anchor Pier on the wall of a gift shop. They had one room left for the evening and I booked it as I love finding interesting places to stay on road trips. The room is waterfront and had a lovely view of the harbor. It had a private deck, spacious room with a super comfortable bed and was in the heart of everything. They even had a free washer/dryer in the hall for guests. When I checked in, the desk person said in passing "there are ear plugs are in the closet". I thought that was an odd sentence but okay. Well the sea lions are very near the Lodge and they bark and grunt loudly most of the day and night. I personally thought it was fabulous and let them sing me to sleep. What
