Americas Best Value Inn Marshall

This place has seriously gone down hill. I used to love staying here it used to be well kept but now there's mold and the rooms have a stale smell. Luckily you're behind a smoke shop so you can go get some incense. The fridge and microwave were both dirty as well. I reserved a smoking room and didn't get it either. Folks were nice but they take forever to do anything bc there's no one up front. You use a ring door bell to talk to someone at the front desk. They might come out if you're lucky. Customers, this isn't a great option. And to the management, learn how to clean.

The man at the front desk was cordial and showed me the room first as I requested. The room was relatively clean, although there were dusty areas and the side chair showed soiling from use. The large refrigerator and tv were nice. The bathroom was aged and wood trim was badly chipped. No strainer in the sink. The sink was old and scarred. The toilet was very low. There was no exhaust fan, no hair dryer, and no hand towels. There was no ironing board /iron. However, the beds were comfortable. Wifi did not work and the Dish Network satellite kept going out. (There was a lot of thunder and lightning in the area at the time.) ||The ice maker in the hotel worked. The old style pool in back was drained. It appears to not have been used for a long while. We stayed here for 2 nights and I will never stay here again. When we first arrived, they didn't even have someone at the front desk, instead we had to push a ring door bell to get an employee to come to the front and give us our key to the room. As soon as we stepped into the room we got hit with an awful smell, not sure what it was. I opened the fridge and it was dirty and still had food in it from whoever previously stayed in the room, the microwave was dirty and had a bad smell, the floors were dirty, and there was mold on the shower curtain. Honestly, I didn't feel like the room was actually cleaned before our stay, like they just made the beds and went to the next room.

A great price,clean room and friendly service. No wash machine was a disadvantage
