Americas Best Value Inn Cedar City

DISGUSTING!! I grew up coming to this hotel, my aunt was a maid and we spent every summer swimming here. When I grew up and moved away I stayed here when I visited family and it was always great for the cost! I get in and there’s a 12 yr old checking me in at 1 am… adult who can actually checks me in doesn’t come in till 20 mins later. I called the day before to let them know I would be bringing pets with me, paid the pet deposit and thought we were set. When I tried to go to my room with my dog they tried to stop me, after I told them I called they reluctantly let me go to my room. I got there and it was gross, bathroom light didn’t work, random wood -like pieces all over the floor, nothing looked like it was wiped down. I stayed here one night in December during an emergency carpet cleaning. Staff was nice. The greatest takeaway I got was that bed...WOW! Seven hours of perfect sleep, and woke up feeling like my spine was straighter. Haven't felt that way in years after getting up. Where did you guys get those mattresses from?

The light over the sink didn't work, the TV didn't work. The tub has a huge crack in the floor of the tub. The bathroom door was covered in greasy handprints and was broken. The carpet was soiled. The ice maker didn't work. We took this ton because everything else was booked full because of football playoffs. It was totally unacceptable. Horrible place that should be burnt down.

Positive: This family run hotel was delightful! Clean, fresh smelling room, great bed with 3 pillows, close to eating, gas stations, etc. The staff was wonderful too!! Negative: Keep up the good work!!

TLDR; this place is unliveable. I'm not sure how they stay in business, honestly. I was supposed to stay here for three nights, but had an absolute nightmare of an experience and had to leave on night two. When we checked in we were given our room keys and walked into our assigned room to find people sleeping in the beds! They had given us an already occupied room. We should have just walked at that point but it was late and we were fresh off the road. The room we got smelled awful, was not very clean, and had some oddities like the smoke detector being covered with a plastic bag. The toilet also wouldn't flush so we tried to call from the number on the front desk and never got an answer. We finally caught someone at the front desk and he told us we'd need a different room.
